Title: MY TOP 10 MOVIES FOR 2024

As my list attests, 2024 had some remarkable films. Yet it was a challenging year for Hollywood. While the strikes occurred in 2023, their impact was felt most acutely in the first half of 2024, leaving a struggling box office until
Inside Out 2 debuted in June. The film became the year's biggest hit and the highest-grossing animated movie ever. Sequels and franchises continued to dominate the box office—a trend that has defined the past 15 years. However, 2024 saw more family-friendly, PG-rated films occupy a larger chunk at the box office. Titles like
Despicable Me 4,
Moana 2,
Wicked,
Kung Fu Panda 4,
Sonic the Hedgehog 3,
Mufasa: The Lion King, and
The Wild Robot drew huge audiences, proving family-friendly films currently drive the theatrical experience. Of course,
Deadpool & Wolverine was the exception that proved the rule, standing out as an R-rated blockbuster in a sea of family-driven successes. Popcorn flicks delivered the dazzling spectacle that theaters thrive on, but my top 10 list ventures beyond the big hits. It celebrates not only the cinematic grandeur of the year's biggest films but also quieter, character-driven dramas that left a lasting impression on me in unexpected ways. And now, for the big reveal. Drumroll, please…
