New post on The Thoughts and Opinions of Lady Bookamore
First of all, I would like to thank the author for giving me an opportunity to review such a wonderful anthology of poems.
The Unsaid is a one-of-a-kind poetry collection which can be characterised by its simplicity and serenity in verse. Consisting of 68 poems in total, this anthology explores certain aspects of life we are all acquainted with in one way or another, whether it is love, loss, hope, birth, or life itself.
What makes The Unsaid so unique is the fact that this anthology embodies the essence of human experiences in such a subtle manner. Sometimes, some ideas cannot be expressed in the fullest with the help of elaborate descriptions. The beauty of the poem gets lost, then. Instead, it is this lightness of the idea that is itself capable of being conveyed to the readers and audience with the help of images, metaphors, or subtle hints for that matter. In fact, it is this subtlety of ideas and thoughts which made it such a spellbinding read for me. Another reason why I liked reading The Unsaid is the simplicity of the language and the varying tonality in each of the poems. The sheer crispness of the language utilised constitutes more than half of the book's magnificence. After all, it is the accounts of life experiences presented to the reader in the form of poetry.
Most importantly, The Unsaid carries with its subjective feelings a note of universality; assuring its readers that others feel your agony or joy too. This "relatability" of emotions effected through some of the most riveting verses of this anthology makes The Unsaid such an engaging work of poetry. And, my favourite from the lot is – "Completeness is not when you unite with someone else but when you reunite with yourself."
I convey my best wishes to the writer for her future endeavours.
