This month will be hectic as I will participate in two different readathons: the Bookoplathon and the Magical Readathon - Orilium. I try to organise it to be the easiest for me to do and not put on myself any pressure during this month. So like I said in the Note #1 post (click here to read it), I will have a base TBR made by my Olympus TBR game, and I will adapt this TBR following my rolls on the Bookoplathon board.

In October, I will not have any punishment (except if I read less than six books). So even if the base TBR evolves, my objective for September is to read a total of six books, and that's all!

September Olympus TBR

Prompts

In August, I used the bonus card "change a book". So now I have one that I can use next time I'm playing the Olympus TBR game, and as I read the books corresponding to the Monster card I had in August, I have one new card: "change a prompt" which means that I can change any prompt of this month or I can use it next time I'm plating the Olympus TBR game.

Books

Book 1

Godess: Artemis

Prompt: Read a book with element of nature on the cover

Pick: Small Favors by Erin A. Craig (publisher: Delacorte Press)

Why: I'm dying to read this book, so I was happy to have a prompt made for it. On the cover, you have diverse nature elements: the bees, honey, flowers, also; in the book, you find back the bees.

Book 2

God: Hermes

Prompt: Read a book that you purchase recently

Pick: The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan (publisher: Puffin)

Why: The last books I purchased are the fifth and sixth books of the Spellslinger series. However, I didn't finish the fourth one, so I can't read them at all for now. So I choose a book from the last time I went to the library, and it was this one.

Book 3

God: Titanomachy

Prompt: Read a book that is equal or more than 450 pages

Pick: Little Thieves by Margaret Owen (publisher: Hodder & Stoughton)

Why: This book is an ARC, but when looking on Goodreads, it says 512 pages. This book will be released on the 05th of October 2021.

Book 4

Goddess: Aphrodite

Prompt: Read a smutty book

Pick: The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert (publisher: self-published)

Why: I base my assumption of smut on the Brown Sisters series. Also, I need short books for this month of the readathons.

Book 5

God: Hermes

Prompt: Read a translated book

Pick: The Woman in the Purple Skirt by Natsuko Imamura (Publisher: Faber & Faber)

Why: The author is Japanese and is translated by Lucy North

Book 6

God: Poseidon (I first fall on Olympus so I randomised the gods/goddesses)

Prompt: Read a book from an author who has a name starting with "P"

Pick: Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price (publisher: HarperTeen)

Why: I decided to start with all the authors with the last name starting with P, and I only have three. One is an adult thriller (not in October yet), the second is literary fiction but not in the mood for, and the last was this one.

Bookoplathon

As I will roll the dice each time I finish a book to keep a little suspense and cross my finger to not roll a double, today I will only show the first roll:

Magical Readathon - Orilium

For this readathon, things can change it will depend on the Bookoplathon. However, for now, here are the books I want to read with their corresponding prompts. To complete this readathon, I only need to read two books after it's just bonus reads.

  • The Novice Path entrance : read a book with a map
  • Ashtorn Tree: a book that keeps tempting you (or top of your TBR) → Small Favors by Erin A. Craig
  • The Mist of Solitude: read a standalone → The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert
  • Ruin of the Skye: read a book featuring ghosts/hunted house or supernatural power → Little Thieve by Margaret Owen
  • Obsidian Fall: read a thriller or a mystery book → The Woman in the Purple Skirt by Natsuko Imamura (transl. by Lucy North)
  • Tower of Ruination: read a 5 stars prediction
  • Orilium Academy Arc: a book with a school setting

You can follow my journey with these two readathons on Twitter (@alizee_books) as you only have a glimpse of them here. Also, you will see my final TBR coming live through the two threads I create for the readathon.

For now, those are the six books of the base TBR, but as I said before, it can evolve during the month. Those six books make a total of 2,238 pages which means that I need to read 75 pages per day to achieve it.

Don't hesitate to share the books that you want to read this month or give your thoughts about these books if you have already read them.

Liz.
