It's the month of Becca's Bookoplathon

I don't fully understand where our summer has gone but it's officially autumn now and I'm getting the NaNoWriMo itch. Anyone else?

Doing NaNo prep in Septemer is a bad idea! I've done it before and was creatively exhausted by the start of NaNo. It was still a success but those first two weeks where a drag and a struggle. So not again thank you.

I have no plans for September. I know work will be busy, there is tons to plan and prep for the allotment, and then there is Bacca's Bookoplathon. Those are my plans really.

I have decided to not do a TBR for Becca's Bookoplathon which makes me nervous. Instead I played a game of ring of TBR (my own TBR game) and set some rules for September:

  1. No books off my Ring of TBR gets read unless Becca'sBookoplathon tells me to
  2. All doubles that a rolled during Becca's will be added to the stack after I have completed my own Ring of TBR.

There could be punishments on the way.

Just to explain. I have played my TBR game and those are my TBR for the month by I have to play for them. I roll on Becca's board and whichever place I land on I need to find a book with that prompt. If the prompt fits a Ring of TBR book, great let's read that. If not, then a new book is added to September's reads. This means I could go a long time before I get to any of my Ring of TBR books. I have no set amount of rolls but rather I play until I finish my own Ring of TBR stack. You with me? I'm not sure I am but hey.

I've ended up with 8 books on my TBR with the potential to make it a lot bigger. Finger crossed I survive this month... lol

Let's dive in!

The links will take you to their GoodReads page for each book. If the book doesn't have a GoodReads page, the link will take you to their Amazon page. They are not affiliated links.

Amonth Thives by M J Kuhn - One of my most anntisipated releases of the year and last year. I have been expecting this for two years and I'm so excited!! It has that magical wording of "a band of misfits" in the synopsis and I'm sold 🙂 Oh and it's queer/sapphic. Publication date UK 9th September 2021.

The Last Graduate (Scholomance #2) by Naomi Novik - Ring of TBR - I wasn't completely sold by book 2 and I think I will have mixed feeling about this one too but I want to know what will happened. Publication data UK 28th September 2021.

Namesake (Fable #2) by Ariadne Young - I loved the first book so I requested the second when I saw it. Publication date UK 22nd June 2021. Still havent gotten to this...

Carry On (Simon Snow #1) by Rainbow Rowell - Ring of TBR - I read Fangirl earlier this year so I know now what this book is about, but I did pull it out of my TBR jar and wasn't entierly pleased about it.

No books yet but I do need to fit one in. I have made all my Chance cards on Becca's board into TBR vets from my physical shelf so I hope to get to at least one this month.

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbie Waxman - Ring of TBR - I have wanted to read this since I knew about it purely for the reason that it says "bookish"... thats it!

Isola volume 1 by Brendedn Fletcher and Karl Kerschl - Ring of TBR - I've heard a lot of great things about this graphic novel but I don't know what it's about. I know there is a curse on the queen and her personal guard has taken up the mantel to break the curse himself. That's all I know. And I'm intrigued.

A Strange Hymn (Barganer Series #2) by Laura Thalassa - Ring of TBR - This is me being proactive ok. I picked an 8 which is recommended and I remembered from previous rounds of Becca's Bookoplathon that there was a Becca's Recommended square. So I decided to pick a book I was recommended by Becca into my TBR just in case I landed on that square later on I would be safe lol.
