My Review:

Panther is the debut paranormal novella by Anabeth Carston. I don't usually read paranormal but they called this cosy paranormal and as I have enjoyed books by both these authors,I thought I'd give it a go. I ended up absolutely loving this book and felt the concept was very plausible. It was very entertaining and I adored Rex, he was just so growly. There is a great mix of characters and the supernatural ones were so interesting that they drew me in and kept me enthralled right to the brilliant ending. A well written, clever story that is not only a paranormal romance but is also a story about a group of very strong women and I couldn't put it down.

The story is about Clara Norton and the life changing events that occur when she has to go to court to get help for her daughter Audrey. Clara is desperately trying to save Audrey's life and help suddenly comes in the most unexpected and unusual way. She is a determined and motivated woman, whose priority is her daughter and luckily isn't perturbed by the strange things that happen to her in her quest in finding a cure for Audrey.

The supernatural realm and the human world has been thrown together due to the misdemeanours of one of their men. Sebastian Catamount has gone rogue and is breaking all the rules of The Claw. We find out what he has been up to and how his actions have affected Clara.

The romance part of the story builds as Clara is accepted into the other side of town and Rex crashes into her life. There's an instant attraction but he has to control his feelings as she is forbidden. My heart went out to him and I wanted to cuddle him but not when he was shifting!

I enjoyed finding out all about the supernatural characters and the differences between them and humans. Their sense of family and community was impressive and I liked how loyal and protective they all were. For my first taste of paranormal I thoroughly enjoyed this feline tale and totally recommend it. I really hope we get more in the future as I would love to know more about them all and see how Audrey manages as she grows up.
