Once again I have been struggling to read a lot. I haven't been writing much either although I intend to in November for Nanowrimo. Time permitting. Which explains why this blog has been so quiet.

Basically, I had two job interviews, was volunteering, involved in various projects, catching up on housework, doing Inktober and assorted bits of crafting as well as helping with an ongoing family thing. I've just been too distracted and haven't found time to settle down with a book or even to write about things here. I did get a few library books through, which means I didn't finish my re-read from last month.

Anyway, here is a summary of what I managed. Some of them were short, some were long and took me ages. One I only read a fraction of because I had nearly finished it at the start of October.

Books Read:

Beautiful World Where Are You by Sally Rooney; Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason; The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Attwood; How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell; The Vanishing Half by Britt Bennett; The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy; Hercule Poirot and the Greenshore Folly by Agatha Christie

Audio Books: 1 (How To Train Your Dragon)

Re-reads: 1 (The Handmaids Tale)

Books Started but not finished: 0

Books Started in September, Finished in October: 1 (Beautiful World Where Are You)

Choosing a favourite and least favourite is something I will once again not be doing because I simply can't. In all honesty, I didn't like or dislike any enough to separate them into categories label them as such. I really can't pick one that I really enjoyed and if I can't pick one that I really enjoyed, I can't go for a least favourite either. They all fell a bit flat with me.

I suspect that I won't be doing much reading in November. This is partly because of the same reasons that I haven't been reading much in October, but additionally because I am stuck in a reading slump and don't see an immediate end to it.

There is also Nanowrimo to think about. I should really be stopping reading for a little while when I write my own book. It will be my fourth attempt at taking part in Nanowrimo and my third attempt at writing this one particular book although it has since turned into a sequel for another novel that I wrote and a massive part of the content has changed. It is also the first time I have written it with a laptop. I previously tried to do it on my phone and suffered.

Whether I will find the time to write I don't know as I am due to start working again soon. On the plus side the travelling will be an opportunity to listen to some audio books, providing my phone doesn't have a funny turn.
