My thoughts
The Ocean In My Sky is a delightful fantasy story with emotions, illustrations and morals. When I started reading this book, I did not think I would enjoy reading it. I read less of this genre, so I wanted to take a chance this time. Author Ann narrates the story pleasingly, and that, my interest in reading children books with illustrations lit in mind.

Jade and Kez are adorable to read. I loved the way each one of them showcased their feelings. The story is about life, nature, space objects, empathy, affection, and familial love. 

My end thoughts on this book are that The Ocean In My Sky is a story of love, hope and affection.

How is the narration
The heart of any story is the narration. In this book, the narration was undoubtedly one of the best. This is also one of the unique graphic novels I have read. The story consists of multiple characters facing random situations which are connected. Each page is colourful, thoughtful, and exciting. Hence, if you are looking for a consistent plot with a strong storyline and morals, with interesting illustrations, this is the one. 

About the characters
The story has four main characters. Jade, Kezjen, Amphora and Sage. There are also unnamed characters that weave the story. Jade and Kez are the most fascinating for many reasons. One is the everlasting love between them and their commitment to one another. The strength and the scope of each character are well maintained till the end of the story. The character of sage and Jade's dad is worth reading. Even the elements like water, sun, breeze etc., are given scope in the story. Thus, the characters are full of life, rendering the story well.

Writing Style
The author writes in a style that is simple and elegant. Though this is a fantasy fiction story, the warmth that every page illustrates is pleasing. The way every character behaves and adds beauty to the story is what I liked. This style of writing as a reader makes me feel content.

Grammar & Vocabulary
The language used is simple and elegant. No grammatical errors are found. The author has used easy vocabulary that makes reading flowy.

What did I like
The beautiful illustrations of abstract art on alternate pages make the reading interesting. These illustrations with the colours that depict the mood and feelings of the characters are unique and attractive. 

What could have been better
My only concern with the story is that it is very short. I wished the beautiful story and the colourful illustrations could have been continued further for some more pages. Other than this, the story is spotless!

Entertainment quotient
In the end, the story is lovely to read. It can be read to the children, and its morals can be explained for better understanding. This book surely attracts adults and children for its contents. Thus, the story of The Ocean In My Sky is a colourful read.
