This will be Ella's eighth time down the aisle…

Ella has made it her mission in life to find every bride in their dream dress.

But every time she sends one of her happy customers off to the altar with a perfect, ivory silk gown, she thinks of those seven, hideous bridesmaid dresses hanging in her own closet.

She's about to add another one, too, because her best friend's wedding is now only months away. And this one, in a muddy shade of brown, might be the worst dress yet.

Ella is excited for her friend to have the perfect seaside wedding, but every discussion about flowers and centrepieces makes her feel more alone than ever.

So, Ella finally accepts her friends' pleas to set her up on a blind date.

Ella is set to meet a handsome, gym-going estate agent. But a mix up on the night throws her into the path of Kit, instead.

Kit is most definitely not the man she was supposed to meet, but he could end up changing her life in ways she never thought possible…

Laugh-out-loud funny and full of romance, friendship and yards of white tulle, this is the perfect read to escape with! Fans of Cathy Bramley, Katie Fforde and Milly Johnson will be totally hooked from the very first page.

My Review

This is part one of a four-part (I assume!) serialisation.  As it's a serialisation, the parts are only short reads, so be prepared for cliff-hangers at the end of each part.  I have read many of this author's books before, and have loved them all, and this one looked and sounded right up my street!  We get to meet Ella, who's a seamstress in a Bridal shop.  She's so good at what she does, but she works for Wanda, who is the worst boss ever!  Her love life is lacking somewhat also, and when a blind date ends up in mistaken identity, she meets Kit who mysteriously shares a common bond with her!

My lips are sealed as to what else happens in the book!  Even though it's such a short read, there is a lot packed into those pages and I wouldn't want to accidentally reveal any surprises!  Ella is a lovely character however and I really connected with her from the very beginning!  I was in awe of her skills as a seamstress and how easy she made it look altering styles and shapes of the beautiful dresses in Wanda's shop.  Ella's best friends Lucy and Brittany are as equally likeable as Ella is and I found myself laughing out loud at their antics throughout the book!  The author's writing is so clever, with so much humour in it that you can't help but be hooked into the storyline very quickly!

Being the first part of Ella's story, the author has done a fabulous job setting the scene for what looks to be a wonderful series.  I love a storyline which is easy and fun to read, captures perfectly the essence of what it's all about and leaves me wanting more at the end.  As with these serialisations, you do get left with a cliff-hanger, and I was a tiny little bit disappointed that I had to leave Ella's story there when I just wanted to carry on to the end!  BUT…it gives me something to look forward to when part two is released and I will just have to learn to be patient!!  This was such a delightful read, which I absolutely loved!  Would definitely recommend!

The Author

Bella has been jotting down stories as far back as she can remember but decided that 2013 would be the year that she finished a full length novel.

In 2016, her debut novel, 'It Started At Sunset Cottage', was shortlisted for the Contemporary Romantic Novel of the Year and RNA Joan Hessayon New Writers Award.

Bella's stories are about friendship, love and coping with what life throws at you. She likes to find the humour in the darker moments of life and weaves these into her stories. Her novels are often serialised in four parts ahead of the full book publication.

Bella believes that writing your own story really is the best fun ever, closely followed by talking, eating chocolate, drinking fizz and planning holidays.

She lives in The Midlands, UK with her lovely husband and wonderful daughter, who thankfully, both accept her as she is (with mad morning hair and a penchant for skipping).
