Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company We love our flavoured gins at Luxe Review Towers, and this Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin is a great addition to the office drinks cart. It offers an irresistible blend of juniper, sweet pineapple and bittersweet caramel. The process here involves roasting whole pineapples on a spit with Demerara sugar until they're caramelised.  We're told pineapple gin was popular in the '20's but fell out of fashion - we can't think why!  You can't go wrong using it as a beautifully hued base in your Gin & Tonic, but maybe also mix things up by serving with ginger beer (or even Lilt!) for a tropical garden party cocktail. There's a pineapple sweetness on the nose, with hints of citrus and that caramelising sugar. Pineapple fruit gin was popularised in the Roaring Twenties Moonshot gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company Move over Jeff Bezos, Moonshot gin is reportedly made from botanicals (including Cubeb, fresh lemon peel, chamomile flowers, cardamom, and orange peel) that have been sent to space - or at least 20km into the stratosphere, which seems spacey enough to us. Facts worth remembering as an ice breaker when you serve up a Next Generation G&T in Ten Forward or make the perfect 'Gravitini'. Expect Candied peels, Carambola (aka Star Fruit), and lemon thyme on the nose, and Cassia spice and black pepper on the palate. The finish is a little sweet, but it's balanced by coriander seed and notes of grapefruit. Moonshot Gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company sells for £30.95. FEW American Gin Based in Evanston, IL, near Chicago, this craft distillery creates keeps its recipe secret but we know this American Gin is made with a base spirit of white whiskey (un-aged bourbon), instead of more conventional neutral spirits. The result is a rather different character, with vanilla sweetness to bolster the juniper. The aroma is lemony, with some vanilla sweetness on the palate.  FEW American Gin, £39.95. This classic dry gin is distilled in Copper Pot Stills, this classic dry gin combines copious juniper with big hits of zesty citrus. On the palate, the citrus opens up to reveal orange blossom and sherbet lemon. A refreshing dry gin with classic citrus notes, just want we want for the perfect G&T.
