New Sky Stream service lets you watch Sky TV on any telly in any room over Wi-Fi

You'll soon be able to watch Sky TV on any flatscreen in the house, Sky Glass TV or Sky dish not required.

Sky Stream is a 4k HDR TV box that uses the same platform as Sky Glass, and connects wirelessly to your home network. Just hook it up via HDMI to any screen to watch Sky's premium broadband-delivered TV service.

Sky Stream will be available in the UK from October 18, from Sky.com or from a Sky Retail store.

There's the choice of a 31-day rolling plan that can be cancelled at any time, starting at £29 a month, or an 18-month contract, which begins at £26 a month. This gets you the Sky Ultimate TV and Netflix Basic package. Additional packs and services, including Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, BT Sport and 4k UHD and Dolby Atmos, can then be added to your bundle.

There's also a £39.95 set-up fee, or £20 if you take an 18-month contract, but there's no need for a service engineer to come round to set the system up.

The Sky Stream user interface is the same as Sky Glass. Unlike a Sky Q set top box, there's no local recording. You just add shows you want to watch to an 'infinite' cloud playlist.

If you have a Dolby Atmos TV, soundbar or home cinema system, Sky Stream will deliver Dolby Atmos audio.

The Sky Glass system is built around voice control, so the Stream box comes with a voice enabled remote control. You can use it to voice search TV channels, programme types or individual series. You can also access content using catch phrases from your favourite TV shows or movies.
