I'm pleased to welcome you today to my stop on the blog tour for gorgeous romantic comedy Before I Do by Sophie Cousens. Thank you to Jenny Platt and Hodder & Stoughton for giving me the opportunity to read and review this lovely book.
About the book:
.
What would you do if the one that got away turned up the night before your wedding?
Audrey is marrying Josh; steady, dependable Josh, the love of her life. They share a flat and a bank account, and it's the only relationship that Audrey's ever had that feels like something she can put her trust in. But romance should be full of fireworks, and as the big day approaches, Audrey's found herself wondering if Josh really is 'the one'.
So, when Josh's sister Miranda arrives at their rehearsal dinner with Fred - Audrey's 'What If?' guy, the man she met six years ago and had one amazing day with but never saw again - Audrey can't help but see it as a sign.
Surely Fred's appearance the night before Audrey is due to get married can't be a coincidence. And when everything that could go wrong with the wedding starts to go wrong, Audrey has to wonder: could fate be trying to stop her from making a huge mistake?

My Review:
Before I Do by Sophie Cousens is a heartwarming romantic comedy that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. Beautifully written, it is a lovely, often funny, story that will steal your heart from the very first page.
Audrey is marrying the love of her life, steady and dependable Josh. They have a lovely home together and Josh is trustworthy, honest and everything Audrey has ever wanted. But then, as their wedding approaches, she begins to wonder if there's enough of a spark to their relationship and if Josh really is 'the one'.
And then, the day before the wedding, Audrey is blindsided when Josh's sister turns up to the rehearsal dinner with a face from the past on her arm. Fred, who Audrey met six years ago and shared one incredible day with, has always felt like the 'one who got away'. So what does it mean that he's turned up today of all days? Is fate trying to tell her something? With the wedding day unfolding with one thing after another going wrong, Audrey becomes more and more convinced that she is about to make the biggest mistake of her life. Will she actually go ahead with the wedding? Or is fate about to step in before it's too late?
A lovely, sometimes moving, often hilarious read, Before I Do is a multilayered, heartwarming tale, with characters you can't help but care about. Sophie Cousen's has written a gorgeous romantic comedy that doesn't always go the way you would expect it to, which is one of the things I loved most about it.
The perfect read to escape with this autumn, Before I Do is a book I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
