Burn With Me starts off right where Burn For Me ended. Lillian is in the hospital following the attack and is unsure that her mind is correct in what she remembers. The one thing that stands out to her is that her savior was not a human, but a dog and she needs to find it because she's sure he needs a home.
Zach is beside himself when he walks into the hospital room and sees Lillian laying the bed. She is battered and bruised and he's not sure what else happened, but he's determined to protect her and find the attacker.
This was a good book, but I think I liked the first one more, only because the story was more centered on the development of the relationship. This book was more focused on Lillian and her attacker as well as her coming to terms with what happened and what she remembers. When the relationship moves forward these two have a lot to discuss to overcome their pasts and the hurt, they've both experienced due to their ex's. I enjoyed the story and I love Whiskey and Smoke. I give the book a 4-star review.
