Just the title of this book sounds intriguing, a few of my friends have even said so. While it's not my typical genre to read, it did take me on a journey I hadn't expected and I enjoyed it.
Prue is in rehab for sex addiction. She meets these interesting people who also have addictions of various kinds. It's an inpatient program in Arizona. The patients interact with one another, have smoke breaks, even movie nights. They seem to grow quite close as they learn about each others pasts and presents as well as how their addictions started and how they ended up at the facility.
In the middle of it all, Prue finds herself full of doubt about her own ability to overcome her thoughts and behaviors. She screws up royally, yet is forgiven. There's a handful of moving parts within this story including other people like Alastair from England, who isn't really serious about sobering up and ends up falling back into cocaine.
Then there's the suicide that there everyone off kilter. Yep, someone, a woman Prue grew close to, commits suicide towards the ending of their program. This throws everyone into their own thoughts and how to mourn the joyful soul they called a great friend.
It's an interesting story that ends differently than I imagined it would. I'm blessed to have read it as it helps to see things from different perspectives and I appreciate how well this was put together. 5 out of 5 tiaras for this!
