Synopsis:
Catalina Martín desperately needs a date to her sister's wedding. Especially since her little white lie about her American boyfriend has spiralled out of control. Now everyone she knows—including her ex and his fiancée—will be there and eager to meet him.

I cannot believe that I have had this book in my possession for so long and haven't picked it up. I am literally so mad at myself because this book is nothing short of an amazing story about two people falling in love in an unconventional way.
Lina is from Spain and has made a life for herself in New York City leading her own team in a business firm, and with her sister's wedding coming up soon Lina is running out of time to find a man to bring home with her and her date since Lina has been telling her family that she's been in a relationship.
While at work, one of the higher up people decided that Lina should be in charge of planning an all day party for the company to invite others to work with despite Lina telling them that she has no experience planning large social events and has extra work of her own as one of her team members is out on maternity leave. With the increased workload and planning the event, Lina is forced with staying later than most to make progress on anything. While working late one evening Aaron offers out of the blue to help her with planning the event and even offers to go to Spain with her as her fake date.
Lina immediately says no to the fake dating option as she would rather go alone and face her family without a boyfriend, but fate is having none of that when not only her mother hears Aaron in the background while speaking to Lina one day and Lina is trying to tell Aaron to go away. Then the other mail in the coffin is when Lina passed out on night at work and Aaron takes her back to her apartment and her sister calls Lina worried and Aaron picks up.
Despite Aaron making her blood boil and her not being his biggest fan, Lina finds herself with no other option than to take him up on his offer after the hole that has been dug, and the only thing that Aaron asks in favor is to be his date for a charity gala where he is taking part in a bachelor auction. Lina can help herself and tries to outbid an older lady who's been after Aaron for years.
The next thing we know they're on a plane to Spain to convince her family that Aaron is the fake boyfriend she's been talking about for years and convincing herself that everything that Aaron does and says is just him playing the part. But, Aaron is trying to convince Lina that everything he is doing is to actually win her heart.
Aaron is ready to turn this fake dating experience into something real, but Lina is hesitant given that Aaron is going to be promoted to be her boss and her past relationship that was one of the driving factors in her leaving Spain those years ago. She loves seeing those smiles that are only for her and him being able to read her so well despite them only truly starting to talk for a couple of weeks, but she's afraid that they'll go back to what they were before the trip or the rumors that could start.
I love Lina and Aaron, and their progression throughout the story. Lina is this warm and bright hearted person who tries to help everyone despite her own needs and wears her heart on her sleeve most of the time. She's learned not to take let people run over her.
Aaron is perfection. I don't care what y'all say. If I can find my own Aaron Blackford, my life will be complete. And let me tell y'all, the mouth on this man took me by shock toward the end of the book *clears throat*. He may be calculating and stoic, but he's guarding his heart almost as Lina, and he regrets freezing up on Lina's friendliness when they first met making her think he doesn't like her. He's a romantic at heart and is overly protective and caring and *swoon*.
I could honestly take a whole book just following Aaron Blackford around and not be tired of him.
This book had me hanging onto every word that left Aaron's mouth as he tried to convince Lina that she is the one for him. There's some much going on between Lina and Aaron even from the beginning that makes it hard for you to not fall in love with them!
