Oink Games are known for their tiny boxes, and Scout is no exception. It starts with everyone getting a hand of cards and then not being able to move or rearrange cards for the rest of the round.
Starting with one player placing a combination of cards in the centre of the table, players take turns trying to beat it with the cards in their hand. You do this by creating straights or groups of the same number. For example, if a pair of twos were in the centre of the table, they could beat it with a straight of one-two-three.
In beating the combination, they'd also win the pair of twos. These then count towards their score at the end of the game.
Despite there being some leniency in moving cards around in your hand through the scout action. There still looks like there's a lot of thought required. So far, the reviews for Scout have been raving, so I can't wait to try it out.
