Blurb:
I've been in love with Prince Augustus for as long as I can remember, but he keeps pushing me away, into the arms of another...
Atticus is a dangerous flirt; he could steal my heart if I'd let him.
Leo, my fierce protector, speaks to me on a soul-deep level, unlike any I've ever known.
All three of them hint at something more, but they aren't the only ones staking a claim on my body. There's evil stalking in the shadows of the castle, and he wants me, too.
I'll fight for my freedom and flee if I have to, but it'll require leaving parts of my heart behind. I just have to hope that if it comes to that, one day, fate will bring us back together.
**Warning this book contains scenes and references of abuse/assault that some readers may find triggering. Along with graphic violence.
My 4* Review:
No Such Fling is a short but intriguing prequel to Coralee June's new Bloody Royals Trilogy. It is a dark and twisted tale with triggers, set in the kingdom of Aldrich. It ends in a dramatic and shocking cliffhanger ready for No Such King.
This story introduces us to Christine Abernathy and the three men in her life. Augustus, the Crown Prince of Aldrich. Atticus DuPont, his best friend and Leo, his bodyguard. Christine is the queen's adopted daughter so she grew up with Augustus and they are best friends. Everybody knows she has been in love with him for years but he has a duty to the crown.
Augustus knows Christine loves him so often plays with her feelings and leads her on but lately he has been pushing her away.
Atticus is a huge flirt and very good at making Augustus jealous but recently there has been a darker edge to his personality.
Leo is the quiet one, keeping himself in the shadows and is very protective of her. He is older and they share a unique bond. He looks out for her and regularly gives her little treats.
Her poor heart is under attack by all three and she is confused over her feelings for each of them. She is good friends with them all but feels like a toy they are all playing over. Do all three really want her or is there an ulterior motive behind their kind words? What are their true intentions and what secrets are they all hiding?
There is evil, betrayal, manipulation, lies and deceit amongst the castle walls and one night, a series of events changes her life forever.I am fascinated to know what will happen next and what will be the consequences of the events at the end. Luckily the author is releasing No Such King in January, so we won't have long to wait for the answers.
