Review:
When Carmen's mum enlists her perfect sister to help her find a job, she ends up in Edinburgh, in a book shop that is close to closing for good, at Christmas time. Can she enjoy herself and save the shop at the same time?
I really liked this book, books about bookshops always make me feel warm and cosy. This one was no different, and Jenny Colgan is great at her description.
Carmen is a very relatable character, she's the one who proves to people she can do it even when they have very little faith in her. I liked that about her. I did also like that her and her sister did eventually get on better by the end of the book.
It would have bugged me if they didn't.
The one thing I wasn't the biggest fan of was the romance- it kept going one way and then it went the other way and it got really confusing. I'm glad that Carmen ended up with the right guy in the end though.
A really cosy Christmas book.
4/5 stars.
