Exclusive Excerpt:
Women are coming into the store and pretending to look at shoes while turning and staring at me.
"What's it like to be famous?" Sophie, who is next to me at the tills, teases.
"It's weird. It was only a two-minute interview. They must have interviewed loads of other people. I mean someone got engaged."
"Yeah, none of the other people interviewed were hot," she says, and I feel my cheeks heat.
"You know you're hot, right?" she asks, just as openly as if she was talking about my temperature.
"I—" Nothing. I got nothing. Can I hide under the cash desk because I couldn't be any more uncomfortable if I had itching powder in my pants.
"Like, most of the women here would if you were more approachable, but you always just don't seem interested…" Her voice tilts up at the end, like it's a question. "Of course, now we know it's because you already have a girlfriend."
I want to tell people the truth. That it was a mistake. An assumption. But now women are staring at me, and I'm being told staff here think I'm hot, and I want to run away. I'm stuck behind this desk and inside I'm having a complete meltdown. It's like in the last twenty-four hours I've somehow quantum leaped into another man's body. I'm still exhausted from yesterday and I want to be in the stockroom where no one can see me. But no, James has stuck me in full view of everyone like a Madam Tussauds statue. I feel more awkward than the men in charge of sorting out King Charles' pens.

A book hoarder and coffee addict at heart Anna's main existence in life is to create beautiful words about exquisitely flawed characters. She's a slow burn Princess and all about working for that happy ever after, but she guarantees when you get it, you'll fall so hard you might never want to surface again.
Be prepared to oooh and aaah and squeal with delight as Anna takes you on a journey you are unlikely to forget.
Anna lives in Surrey, the UK, with her husband and three children. She happiest writing (thinking of ways to make you swoon), drinking coffee and snuggling up on the sofa in the evenings for a binge of her favourite shows or reading in bed. She loves to chat with her readers on social media so if you love the words come and find her, she sure loves to talk.
