I'm delighted to welcome you today to my stop on the blog tour for warm and tender novel Sincerely, Me by Julietta Henderson. Thank you to Anne Cater and Transworld Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this lovely book.

About the book:

An uplifting and heart-warming novel about a family reunited, second chances and the power of forgiveness, from the author of Richard & Judy Book Club pick The Funny Thing about Norman Foreman.

Danny is the definition of a man who 'could do better'. He drinks more than he should, currently lives in his best friend's garden shed - and he hasn't spoken to his sister in 16 years.

But when Danny is the subject of a misleading newspaper article, claiming his lifestyle is actually quite enlightened, he suddenly finds himself in the limelight. Letters begin to flood in from strangers seeking his guidance.

Wolfie is the daughter of Danny's estranged sister, Lou. She's never met her uncle, but her mother is struggling. So when Wolfie sees Danny's picture in the paper, she sets out to find him.

Within a week, Danny goes from being responsibility-free to a big brother, an uncle and an unwitting existential 'guru' to some very lost souls.

Can he become the man they all need him to be?

About the author:

Julietta Henderson grew up in the rainforests of North Queensland, Australia. Like many Australians, her love affair with Europe began when she came to London on a working holiday and stayed for more than a decade. Now a full-time writer, Julietta divides her life between Melbourne, the UK and wherever she can find winter.

My Review:

Sincerely, Me by Julietta Henderson is a lovely, heartwarming, often hilarious read that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. An uplifting novel about family, second chances and the power of forgiveness, the story is told from the alternate points of view of middle aged Danny and Wolfie, who is the daughter of his estranged sister, Lou. When Danny finds himself as the subject of a misleading newspaper article, he is suddenly thrust into the limelight as letters begin to flood in asking for his advice. And then Wolfie spots Danny's picture in the paper and sets out to find this mysterious uncle who she's never met and who is rarely even spoken about…

Beautifully written, Sincerely, Me is a warm, often laugh out loud funny tale that is as moving as it is entertaining. I couldn't help but fall in love with Danny as he goes from a responsibility free good for nothing man living in his best friend's shed to a big brother and uncle who is now offering advice to strangers who are writing to him asking for guidance.

But as heartwarming and humorous as it is, Sincerely, Me also has a more serious side, touching on powerful themes of grief and depression that may prove triggering for some. A slow burn of a read, the two halves of the story come together beautifully as Danny, Wolfie and Lou slowly begin to heal the broken pieces of their relationship. With Danny's newfound role as an unwitting existential guru bringing an element of light relief along with some truly touching moments, Sincerely, Me is a thought provoking read that shows how even a little kindness towards others really can make all the difference in the world.

A warm, tender and uplifting page turner of a read that I would highly recommend.

Sincerely, Me by Julietta Henderson is available to purchase now:
