An excellent book
This book truly touched my heart and made me cry in some spots and cheer in others. To me, this is a must-read book. I appreciate the author for having the guts to write a book on such a sensitive subject.

Joel never expected to live with one leg, but he wasn't going to let it break him. Like he did with everything else, he adapted, and he accepted that he was never going to find love. Women might want to sleep with a war hero, but they sure as hell don't want to live with and take care of one. That theory proves true until Courtney comes along. Beautiful, independent Courtney with her wicked sense of humor is the perfect woman for Joel. All he has to do is trust her enough to accept that he doesn't have to stand on his own anymore.

As much as he wants her, Slade can't believe she feels the same. Will his insecurities keep them apart, or will Mac be able to convince Slade she loves him the way he is?

Trish Edmisten's New Beginnings series is my absolute favorite and was looking forward to this to be released ever since I read the preview for Ken's story and saw him in other books. I preordered it the second it went up and was beyond excited to see it in my library this morning.
THIS BOOK AND THIS SERIES. I love them so much. They're so realistic and the dialogue feels authentic and natural and every conversation they have isn't some poetic monologue. The interpersonal relationships are so REAL and wonderful. And the characters are honest and insightful and I want to be their friends/feel like I am.
I've been SO excited for Stone's story since I started the series and this book made me even more excited and fall more in love with Joss.
Love Cassandra and Ken's story Now it's time to reread the first three and then reread this one!!
The only thing I dislike about this series is the cover art. I almost passed by this series because of it, I'm such a "judge a book by its cover" person but I'm so glad I got pulled in by the book descriptions because this series is SO GOOOOOD

Awesome read!
This book tells the story of Slade and Mac (yes Mac is a girl). After being paralyzed in an accident Slade has given up ever finding love. Until he meets Mac. The story shows the reality of life of a paralyzed man… Please read the first two books in the series and you will enjoy this story more as you will meet the family and friends. This series has taken over to spit of my all-time favorite reads!
