When rumours first began to appear on the horizon suggesting Rockstar was planning a remaster of Red Dead Redemption the excitement was palpable. Launched in 2010, Red Dead Redemption has sold millions of copies, topped numerous "Best of" lists and spawned a sequel that did it all over again. A remaster of Red Dead Redemption seemed like an easy money-maker for Take-Two and Rockstar. How quickly it all fell apart. The new version was announced as a "conversion" being handled by Double Eleven with a price tag of $50 and no improvements or upgrades mentioned. The hype train was derailed, all while Take-Two attempted to argue that the $50 asking price was justified, despite the game just being a port to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Still no PC version in sight. The disappointment in the air could be shot with a revolver.
