My Review:

The Trap by Catherine Ryan Howard is a fast paced and intense thriller that really did get my heart racing. With strong characters and a storyline unlike any I have ever read before, this is a book that took me on a jaw dropping and twisted journey of intrigue and suspense.

Taking its inspiration from real life missing person cases in Ireland, The Trap is a tense and shocking thriller that drew me in from the very first page and didn't let go until its final, chilling conclusion had been reached.

Lucy is desperate to find her sister, Nicki, who has been missing without a trace for over a year. Although there are striking similarities between Nicki's disappearance and at least two other missing women, very little progress appears to have been made. Frustrated by the lack of police interest in her sister's case, Lucy decides she has no other choice than to take matters into her own hands - putting her own life in danger in the process…

The Trap is a book that makes you think, with a shocking mystery at its heart that will get your blood pumping and keep you on your toes throughout. Told from alternating points of view, the tension ratchets up to almost breaking point as the story moves towards a conclusion I can honestly say I did not see coming.

Catherine Ryan Howard has written a shocking and intense novel that I devoured in two sittings. Dark and devastating, The Trap is a deeply unsettling thriller that I know will stay with me for a long time to come.
