An ancient curse. Two families bound. A forbidden love.
When the Wildbloods presented their daughters to me on the night of the Tithing, they knew what was to come for the chosen girl.
The crescent moon that marked Willow made her mine. I had no choice but to take her.
Destiny determined our fates long before we were born, laying our roles out for us.
A Sacrifice would be made. A Tithe paid. Only then would our families be free, at least until the next payment came due.
I would have done my duty as Penitent. I tried.
But no one counted on the lion falling in love with the lamb.
And loving Willow could cost me everything.

MY REVIEW: 5 out of 5
Dark, twisted, and an awesome read. A witch and the penitent that will fulfill the family contract and break the family curse. Has it worked in the past, or is there something that both families are not seeing. With an elder family member pushing for the contract to be fulfilled to the letter, will the danger and curse in the house ever be broken?
A historical contract that can't seem to be broken or the curse will continue. Azreal and Willow are the sacrificial lambs, but can they break the curse without fulfilling the contract. Could something more break the curse?
I loved this start to The Sacrifice Duet and can't wait to delve into The Penitent. I love both Natasha Knight's and A. Zavarelli's writing and their books. They both delve into the dark and depraved worlds that not many write about, but they do it in a way that draws the reader into the story and holds them captive until the final page, even with a cliff hanger at the end. This only makes the reader crave the next book to finish the story. The same holds true for The Sacrifice Duet, The Tithing. I loved it!
