The Big Five model of personality traits, created by Raymond Cattell, aims to describe personality, and psychologists have been presenting new data, using various methodologies to examine these personality traits of each individual.

There is a general consensus among personality experts that personality can be broken down into these 5 basic characteristics that were listed in the Big Five theory of personality traits.

Sub traits of openness:

The big five personality traits have six further independent sub-traits. The openness in a personality comes with the following sub-traits:

i. Artistic interests
ii. Intellect
iii. Emotional
iv. Liberal
v. Adventurous
vi. Imagination

Openness to experience can influence success in several ways. First, people who are open to experience may be more likely to explore new opportunities and experiences that allow them to grow and develop. This can lead them to discover new areas of interest and skills that will be useful in their career or personal life.

Second, openness to experience may also be related to a greater ability to adapt to changing or unpredictable situations. People who are more open to new ideas and perspectives may be better able to find innovative solutions to problems and adapt to changes in the environment.

Additionally, openness to experience may also be related to greater creativity and divergent thinking, which can be beneficial in any field that requires problem-solving or innovative thinking. In fact, several studies have found a positive relationship between openness to experience and creative performance in various areas, such as literature, art, and science.

In general, people high in openness to experience are very open-minded and willing to consider different perspectives and possibilities. This allows them to better adapt to new and complex situations, as well as find creative solutions to problems. openness to experience has also been linked to greater life satisfaction and overall psychological well-being. People who are more open to new and exciting experiences may enjoy life more and have a more positive outlook.

In the professional field, openness to experience can also be very important. People with high openness to experience tend to be more innovative and creative, allowing them to generate new ideas and solutions to problems. In addition, they are able to adapt better to changes in the work environment and learn new skills and knowledge more easily. Conversely, people with low openness to experience may have more difficulty adapting to change and developing new skills, which can limit their ability to grow and advance in their careers.

A high openness score means you're open-minded; you see the world for what it is; whereas a low openness score means you're incredibly closed-minded, and you see the world the way you want to see it, regardless of what is actually going on. Adeo Ressi
