Blurb:

Jillian Nejat is the only dating and relationship expert on the planet who is incapable of speaking to men. If they're living, if they're breathing, it's game over.

With her bank account at zero, her career a dumpster fire, and her dating life in a ten-year slump, she moves into a tiny, dirt-cheap NYC apartment.

Unfortunately, the apartment is already occupied.

Daniel (no-last-name) is a sexy, shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob who is also…dead.

He isn't living. He isn't breathing. He's a ghost. He's also the only man on the planet who Jillian can talk to.

Soon, Daniel's convinced that it's his afterlife mission to resurrect Jillian's love life. He knows, if he helps her fall in love then he can move on. Jillian agrees. The last thing she needs is a Lothario ghost haunting her living room.

But then, one practice date leads to another, one confession leads to more, and suddenly Jillian fears she's falling for the one man she can never have.

My 5* Review:

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a fun contemporary romance with a supernatural twist. A friends to lovers story full of witty banter and ghostly goings-on. Jillian and Daniel first meet under extraordinary circumstances and not all is as it seems. It is a wonderful story about fate and a love strong enough to help the couple save each other, but can you have a HEA when one of the couple is dead? You will just have to read it to find out!

The author quickly immerses you into the paranormal part of the story when Jillian moves into her new apartment and is shocked to find it is haunted by a handsome shirtless ghost. She can't believe he's a ghost and he doesn't believe he's dead. He doesn't know why or how he died and can't remember much about his life. Is it all a dream or has she just imagined him as she has been so determined to find a man who sees her for who she is. Daniel knows her name and is positive they were friends but she is sure she didn't know him before he died. This leads her to question who is he? Why has he appeared to her and no one else? Why hasn't he moved on?

The biggest surprise for Jillian is being able to talk to Daniel because she is extremely shy and usually has an inability to speak to men. He helps her when her job is in jeopardy and gives her dating advice. They fall into an easy friendship and the connection between them grows quickly.

The emotional side of the story grows as we learn more about them and love blossoms between them. I felt the insta love between them was not surprising because he was the first man she could actually talk to. We meet her work colleagues who are an eclectic group but have grown into a family over the years and we learn a lot about all of them. Her best friend Serena is so funny and supportive, I loved how she helped Jillian navigate her unusual relationship.

They are having so much fun together and she is changing as a person that she is distraught when he suddenly doesn't appear anymore. She thought he was there due to having some unfinished business so has he done what he was meant to and moved on? Will she ever find out who he was? The story continues as Jillian tries to navigate life without Daniel. My heart broke for her but luckily the author doesn't leave us in suspense for too long and all is revealed in the end. This unusual story is well written and you will be thoroughly entertained and captivated by Jillian and Daniel. Will they manage to save each other when the time comes? Although it is told entirely from Jillian's POV, we get an amusing second epilogue from Daniel to end this wonderful book.

Look out for Switched - Serena's story next year.
