Favorite Music Of The Month: Two Words. Sleep Token. Like their entire discography basically. I blame TikTok for a snippet of audio that made me track them down and I've been listening to their discography for the entire month of August. (and yes I will not be surprised it they show up as a big portion of my Spotify wrapped for the next year due to me listening to them on repeat).
Non-fiction books of the month:Reclaim Your Author Career: Using the Enneagram to build your strategy, unlock deeper purpose, and celebrate your career. By Claire Taylor. This book is like using your personality type to figure out how to better align themselves to rediscover their motivation for writing and to align their work with what fuels them. I thought this was an interesting approach to an author-centric type book (which I always love to read, they are so helpful with shifting my writing. I usually read these kinds of books when I've lost motivation or when I'm hit with writer's block). Only thing is, is that I didn't get that far in until I realized I forgot what my personality type is. I know its in the range of INFJ mixed with INTP. Which is traditionally what comes about with personality tests. Which is what I was assuming what this book would be referencing. Have to have a big duh moment when I realized that the Enneagram and personality tests are the same thing. So once I do an Enneagram test (at the time I was reading this was right before I was going to bed and I completely forgot to take one. If anyone is interested in knowing my Enneagram in the next post just let me know!)
Fiction books of the month: None for this month, I've been busy with personal stuff so I didn't have the energy to really read that much this month (sad times).
word-count for the month: 1,640. not alot I know. But honestly it was something. A mix of working on my Deal With A Demon project and also getting interested in my other fanfic projects that I haven't worked on in a bit. (nice to get back into projects that I haven't worked on in awhile).
Project A Deal With A Demon Update: I'm finally working on it. And posting my first draft chapters for alpha readers to devour. Which does help me get more motivated to work on the project since I know that there are people waiting anxiously to read the next part. I'm up to the fifth chapter so far, and things are already starting to get good with the possibilities of the dialogue between the protagonist and antagonist/potential love interest for this dark/paranormal romance project. If anyone is interested in becoming an alpha reader just let me know in the comments and I can shoot you the website link.
Randomness Of The Month: This has to go to me becoming an usher for a local venue that I live relatively close to. (No I haven't officially started yet. Alot of meetings and orientations since this is a big company. I start mid to late September. So, I'll be sure to update you guys with the experience (cause honestly I just got the job so that I could watch the concerts and other events. Yes, I would be still helping people to their seats but that is only for a portion of the time while working. I'm kinda excited to see what events I'll be working in October (since all I know as of now are my training event days for September). Also not writing related but I did create a new TikTok & YouTube channel just for budgeting (cash budgeting specifically). I caught on to it through TikTok. I caught onto it in June and have been doing that ever since with every paycheck. It's just nice to see where everything is going and I save up the rollover from every other week to go to savings challenges to build up the money to save up a certain amount. (yes nerd alert I know!)
That's it for now. Thank you for being a subscriber. And let me know what your enneagram is in the comments or your Myers briggs personality type is. Also if you have any favorites of the month comment them down below!
