Blurb:
Serena
The night I met him was supposed to be the worst night of my life.
I can't regret it when it brought him into my life.
Now my dark knight hides in the shadows, but he's never far away.
When a new threat emerges, it makes the line between us blur.
Cops and criminals are enemies, but what happens when you are fighting for the same thing?
Can we be on the same side without having to change who we are and what we believe in?
Tristano
I was never supposed to meet her, but I did.
I broke all the rules to be the hero she needed, but I'm far from innocent.
When she takes on a job as a cop, I know I should keep my distance, but I can't help but be drawn to her.
Then tragedy strikes and all the reasons we have stayed apart disappear.
Time is running out, but I'll never give up on finding her.
She may be the enemy in my family's eyes, but to me, she's my everything.

My 5* Review:
Tristano by Cala Riley is book nine in their Syndicates series but can be read as a standalone. If you have read Enzo then you've already met the wonderful Tristano. This is a great friends to lovers story between Tristano Ferrari and Serena Taylor, a couple on different sides of the law.
Serena's life changed when she was seventeen. She was abducted and suffered a horrific experience but one night managed to escape. Luckily for her a dark knight came along and rescued her. What happened that night starts a secret friendship between them and he makes her a promise he religiously keeps. They keep in touch but when she graduates from police academy he visits her and the chemistry between them really ignites.
Now five years later she is working undercover but getting frustrated with no-one taking her seriously. She is concerned about the number of missing girls but her boss is not interested. She is determined to investigate what is going on but finds herself a victim. Tristano is also working on the kidnappings and trying to find a connection. He is shocked when he sees Serena on the missing persons list and can't believe she's be taken again.
Serena has slowly become the most important person in his life, even if he can't have her as she's a cop and he's mafia. He loves his Mafia family because they helped change his life but has never told them about her. He's finally found his one and is prepared to do anything to keep her so has to revel his secret to save her.
The action is fast paced as everyone tries to find Serena and then solve the mystery of the missing girls. Serena has never mixed the two sides of her life but her feelings for him are now undeniable and she must make a choice. Could she be with him especially as he always seems to there when she needs him. She has always known who he is involved with and what he does, but knows it's all been done to protect those he cares about, because he did it for her. Joining him on the wrong side of the law is becoming very tempting as she wants to make a difference. He doesn't want her to throw her career away but loves the idea they could finally be together.
Her reckless side continues to lead her into trouble and poor Tristano struggles with letting her be independent while trying to keep her safe. He is so supportive but hates she takes unnecessary risks. He is terrified there will be a time she's in danger and he won't be there to help her. Most of the characters from the rest of the series make an appearance. I laughed so much at his interactions with Greer and Enzo, he really enjoys winding them up. OMG I loved him as Uncle Tristano. It was sweet how he always knows what to say and how possessive he was in the best ways. How he stood up for her and claims her in front of all the families is fantastic. I am becoming a fan of these authors as their books just keep getting better and better. They give us all the intrigue of the mafia with a really sweet love story. Soul mates fated to be together.
