I'm pleased to welcome you today to my stop on the blog tour for fabulous murder mystery thriller Murder on the Christmas Express by Alexandra Benedict. Thanks to Anne Cater and Simon & Schuster for giving me the opportunity to read and review this wonderfully festive thriller.
About the book:
CAN YOU SOLVE THE CASE?
Eighteen passengers. Seven stops. One killer.
In the early hours of Christmas Eve, the sleeper train to the Highlands is derailed, along with the festive plans of its travellers. With the train stuck in snow in the middle of nowhere, a killer stalks its carriages, picking off passengers one by one. Those who sleep on the sleeper train may never wake again.
Can former Met detective Roz Parker find the killer before they kill again?

My Review:
Murder on the Christmas Express is a fabulous murder mystery thriller by Alexandra Benedict that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end.
Set against the backdrop of a sleeper train on its way to the Highlands, the story begins in the early hours of Christmas Eve as a killer stalks its carriages, ready to murder the passengers one by one.
We then flash back to several hours earlier on December 23rd as former police detective Roz Parker is trying to make it to the Highlands in time for the impending birth of her first grandchild. Finally settled on board the sleeper train, Roz is hoping for a peaceful journey home but instead, when the body of one of the passengers is found in a locked room, she finds herself caught up in the middle of a hunt for a killer.
But as Roz begins to investigate, she discovers more than one passenger with a motive for murder. So will she be able to fit the pieces of the puzzle together and uncover the identity of the killer - before they strike again?
What follows is a tense and suspenseful murder mystery that kept me guessing throughout. Murder on the Christmas Express is a pure adrenaline fuelled delight, the author bringing this rich and varied cast of characters vividly to life, with the story sometimes heading into darker, more shocking territory as the hunt for the killer continued.
A real page turner of a read, Murder on the Christmas Express is a modern, entertaining and character driven murder mystery tale that I did not want to end. Alexandra Benedict has written a superb thriller that is the perfect book to lose yourself in as we begin to move into the festive season.
Highly recommended.
