A Trip to the Pub, watching Funny Memes, a Fully Stocked Fridge – and the Theme Tune to the Antiques Roadshow – Brits reveal their Top 20 Instant Mood Boosters.
Researchers surveyed the nation, to reveal a definitive list of things that are guaranteed to INSTANTLY lift the nation's moods, with chocolate coming top of the list, with 42 percent of the vote. In second place, was a nice cup of tea (36 percent), while almost one in twenty feel lifted by the theme tune to the Antiques Roadshow - and the same number love nothing more than the satisfaction of watching their rubbish being taken away on bin day.
Meeting friends in the pub (29 percent), finishing your to-do list (24 percent), smiles from strangers (22 percent), and finding you have an empty washing basket (22 percent), are other things which instantly improve our mood.
Other pick me ups include ordering a takeaway as a treat (26 percent) and getting your hair done (21 percent).
The survey found 91 percent admitting they often or sometimes feel blue.
How to Improve Your Mood
Brits Struggle to Relax
The study also found that 52 percent of the 2,000 people polled believe that Brits as a nation struggle to take time to relax, with 79 percent wishing they had more time to wind down and do the simple things in life that make them happy.
In fact, 44 percent of us say we're feeling more down than we did three years ago, with money worries (63 percent), family pressures (39 percent) and busy lives (29 percent) all contributing.

Jill Scott, who is the voice of the campaign, commented, "Supporting each other is so important. We all need to take a moment to focus on what matters most and show our appreciation for our loved ones."
The majority of Brits (57 percent) agree that it's the small things in life that boost their mood.
In fact, 83 percent have a go-to method of instantly cheering themselves up.
