British automotive engineering company Langen, renowned for its handcrafted, limited-production motorcycles, wowed visitors to Motorcycle Live in NEC Birmingham, with the unveiling of its eagerly anticipated LightSpeed four stroke motorcycle.
Visitors at this year's show were treated to a sensory launch inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. The £44,440 Langen LightSpeed LS12, presented within Kusama's specially crafted environment, captivated the audience, drawing attention not only for its aesthetic but also for its ground-breaking specification.
This lightweight (185kg) hypersport bike clearly isn't designed for the masses; it's an exclusive piece of engineering artistry, limited to just 185 launch specification units. Each build is an individual commission, reflecting the unique tastes and preferences of its owner.
It follows the launch of Langen's inaugural motorcycle, The Two Stroke in 2020.

While initially designed for UK roads, the LightSpeed's global appeal has enthusiasts and collectors worldwide clamouring for the ride. Langen says it has already received reservations from various corners of the globe, attesting to the international appeal of this 1190cc V-twin.
One of the hallmarks of Langen's approach is the emphasis on personalisation. Founder and CEO, Christofer Ratcliffe, expressed his excitement about the response to the LightSpeed, highlighting how the bespoke nature of the bike allows customers to tailor their machines with a range of personal options. Each LightSpeed is as individual as its discerning owner, he says.
"I am overwhelmed with the response to the LightSpeed. It has made all the hard work over the last 12 months worthwhile."
For motorcycle enthusiasts seeking more than just an off-the-shelf experience, the LightSpeed represents a rare opportunity to own a truly unique, high-performance work of art, setting the stage for a thrilling new era in luxury motorcycling.
As the pre-production prototype continues to evolve, Langen is gearing up to deliver the first builds to customers at the start of 2025.
