New from British based Marloe Watch Company, the Solent Timer is an evolution of its popular 2019 Solent timepiece, with refreshed design and stylish colourways.
Taking the perennially popular maritime-themed design and giving it a vibrant twist, the Solent Timer comes in three primary models - the Cardinal, Rescue, and Oceanic - plus a special Black Edition. All exhibit the level of fine detail and craftsmanship the brand is known for.
The most popular in the original Marloe Solent range, the Cardinal, showcases a vivid palette complemented by a matte black dial and yellow accents. The Rescue, inspired by emergency services, features bright orange and contrasting stripes, while the Oceanic evokes the calm depths of the ocean with marine blue tones.
The Black Edition, born from the limited-edition Haskell, features a stylish black base with a subtle gradient, accentuated by intricate metallic rings and white minute marks.

Beneath sapphire crystal, the Solent Timer's hands retain a maritime feel, with a polished needle point opening up to a thicker stalk. Hours are represented by bubble icons, and the caseback features a chapter ring with the proverb, 'A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor,' coined by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The beating heart of the Solent Timer is a Miyota 9039, the famously precise Japanese-made movement. Suitable for everyday wear, the polished 42mm case is a comfortable 12mm thick with a 22mm strap width.
Additional changes? Retaining the nautical aesthetics of the original Solent, the Timer replaces the single-crown design, with two symmetrical crowns, and promises better sealing with enhanced functionality. Water resistance is rated at 10 ATM.
Inspired by Sir Alec Rose, the former fruit seller who single-handedly raced across the Atlantic in 1964, the Solent Timer sells for £399. It's available from marloewatchcompany.com.
