| Millennial Book Reviews Dec 24 | Back in January, I made a post about my Reading Goals for myself for 2023. Today, I want to see how close I stuck to those goals and how well/badly I messed up the ones I didn't achieve. Anyway, here are the reading goals I set for myself in 2023 and a reflection on how I did at each one. - Read 100 books– As of writing this, I have read 101 books, so I just barely managed to accomplish this one.
- Read more romance books– In 2023, I read 14 romance books, compared to 2 romances read in 2022. I'm still trying to find my footing in this genre, and figure out what kind of romances I like, but I've exposed myself to more of the genre this year.
- Read Lightbringer– I didn't end up reading any books in this series this year. I didn't end up finishing any series this year, unfortunately.
- Read more self-published books or books from small presses- In 2023, I read 29 books that were self-published and 39 that were released by small presses, which made up a combined 67.3% of my total books read. In 2022, 45% of the books I read were either self-published or published by small presses.
And there you have it. For 2023, I set four reading goals for myself. I achieved three of them. Overall, I'd say I did good, but not great, at achieving my reading goals for the year.
