What I learned from this book is that there are different types of squirrels. 😀
Description of the book: Along with her friend Blake, Ellie is desperately searching for answers about what happened to her great-grandfather years ago. But when they get caught up in the middle of an animal war in the local park, they have more pressing things to think about.
Robbie the red squirrel and his clan are clashing with the bigger, meaner grey squirrels. As Robbie bravely stands up to the Greys, Ellie and Blake do their best to stop the squirrels from fighting and bring peace to the park.
How this book made me feel: Who knew that there are different types of squirrels and that they hate each other? 😀 This book actually made me realise that that's the case because I never really thought about it before. 😀
This book is part of the Magical Book Cafe series. I have not read the previous books so I don't really know what is the essence of these series. What I know is that Blake and Ellie are trying to figure out what happened to Ellie's grandfather, and when the squirrels steal a vital piece of evidence, they get involved in a war between different types of squirrels living in the same park.
It is a cute story about cooperation and forming friendships, it is quite short and it finishes quite abruptly leaving the reader wondering what is next. I would say it is a clever ending, keeping children on their toes to find out more. It has very beautiful illustrations and the text to illustration ratio is pretty good.
So, to conclude, this book is part of the series and it would be best to start from the first book, but I think it can be read as a stand-alone as well. It has cute characters, and a fun plot and I am pretty sure children would like it. 😉
Thank you for your time! ❤
