Synopsis
Where the lovelight gleams …

In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she's loved since she was a kid, she enters a contest with instafamous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, she might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There's just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on the application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only … there is no boyfriend.
Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just came home for some hot chocolate, and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process.

This was a pretty sweet story. Fake dating isn't my favorite trope, but I do like a good friends to lovers story. I listened to this one on audio and thought she did a great job. I loved the setting of the Christmas tree farm and had Taylor Swift's song stuck in my head while hearing about it every time, which set the mood nicely. I liked all the characters, especially Luka.
The story was going great until right up to the end when Stella's stupidity really turned me off. The whole scene was unbelievable and her reaction felt like it came out of nowhere. There was no indication that she'd react that way in her character development, so the surprise was shocking, and not pleasant.
Still, overall, I really liked Stella and Luka together, I loved the small town vibes and setting, and thought the supporting characters were great. I plan to read the next in the series, In the Weeds, a grumpy-sunshine story featuring my next favorite character from this book.
All in all, a lovely little holiday read.
