I have to be honest, I was drawn in by the title and the cover - not sure I'd even read the blurb when i picked it up. But I'd seen that it was pretty popular amongst readers and i do love to 'discover' new authors so I got stuck. I'm so glad I did. With a very unique character and an opening chapter that lives long in the memory for all the right, and wrong, reasons, this is a book that combines mystery, with compelling story telling and a wonderful dissection of what it means to be human and make connections in this ever complicated world of ours. It's very easy to see why it has proven so popular, why it was another Between the Covers pick, and is also, now, an award winning novel. My fifth bookvent choice is ...
