An unyielding offensive burst of raw fury and hatred is something that the depths of the underground are immensely intimate with. For decades now we've seen acts new and old come out of the blackness to deliver immense dirges of power and intensity the likes of which no other genre can compare to with there always being a select depraved few that are constantly carving out new depths of insanity to really push the limits of what's possible even in the most extreme corners of the metal underworld. With bands like Sulfuric Hatred always on the prowl, we never have to look far nor wait long for such a work to really leave an impression.
At the conjunction where the realms of black and death metal meet, we all know that all sorts of horrific visages can take place in an instant. Just to see so many acts trying their hand at stretching the terror into new and invigorating territories while never once losing that devastating edge of intensity and unparalleled brutality is something that continues to make that particular corner of the underground an exceedingly hostile but fascinating place. For their debut, Sulfuric Hatred only does justice to that fact. Despite having only come about last year with a demo that surely went under virtually everybody's radars, it is with this eponymous creation that Sulfuric Hatred makes its first big move in the underground with it having all the raw devastation and homicidal tendencies that one could ask for. We can see throughout the eleven tracks that populate the record that riffs or sheer fury never make up the whole of what goes on within the effort to ensure that while the listener is constantly in an endless inferno whose flames melt rock and contain the screams of the suffering damned, the record is no less than dynamic as it roils onwards. Sulfuric Hatred has put forth a debut that certainly goes through much of the same territory that we've seen from a large swathe of other black-death creations out there, but it's through a real penchant for chaos and a nose for the right flavors for the most delicious tortures that this record easily stands out from much of the rabble.
This is just the start of what Sulfuric Hatred has put forth, and it already proves to pack one hell of a punch in virtually every form! This could very easily be skipped over by anyone who isn't being careful and paying close enough attention throughout the realms of black-death metal, and I feel truly sorry for them. Sulfuric Hatred is a force to be reckoned with, and I have no doubt that the future will be stained with the blood of the weak should this band have its way.
