{15:18} I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
{15:19} And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
In this final snippet here is shown how—should the band members accept their missions spoken to them by God's angels, the tooters—what these 'missions of God' instruct them to do. They are given their missions during the final note sung by singer Erik at the end of the local Walltown Trade and Music Festival, an annual event at the city's large Victoria Park, home of the Tooters. It is almost 5:30 am, when the night is 'let down' as the sun rises, while hundreds of thousands of festival goers witness a singing miracle during a song the Tooters gave the band over ten years before. The finale of the song lyric goes:
Here is the snippet, the finale of Chapter Ten.
The singer then took one final life-giving, chest expanding, heave of breath for the word 'crown' as he raised his arms into the sun's glow.
Crrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowww—
The breath that Erik held, the note that he sang, was no longer under his control.
The Tooters spoke to each of the six individually—simultaneously—while his larynx fired the song's final note.
Tooter Three spoke softly to Erik. "Believe this when I tell you that we are The Tooters. Your Creator has given you this gift of singing voice so that you can do His Will to call the youth of this world to live by His laws."
The now-frightened singer continued to hold the note as he thought "What? How am I supposed to do that? I'm not religious and I never will be. You got the wrong guy!"
"Never mind that. We're not asking you to be religious. We're asking you to call the youth to His Ways so that His Son will save them. You must tell them to call upon Him in His Name."
Erik still held the note and thought. "So you want me, an unrepentant sinner, to tell the youth to stop sinning? Like they're really going to believe me."
"Right now, you are performing a miracle. You've held this note for almost a minute. Surely the youth will believe that you can call them to salvation. We are revealing to your band leader how you will do this."
He still held the note.
"Your first mission, band leader," Tooter One spoke to Jack, "is to lead the band away from all sin and into the arms of righteousness."
Jack stood there, not scared, but certainly not thrilled. Smirk. "I can't believe," he thought, "that you insist on using Sound Unltd. We're not—"
"You're not religious. Yes, we know that. But you are the ones The Creator has chosen, and, despite your wicked lifestyles, He insists upon using you. So, listen up, band leader. If you want to know what you have to do to lead the youth of this world to salvation through His Son, the Messiah, before he saves the faithful and crushes the wicked, you must lead your band mates in studying His Word."
"You mean, the Bible?" Jack began to hyperventilate. "But my dad—"
"Yes, we know what your dad did. But he's not around anymore to hurt you. That's in the past. Now it's time to grow up, Jack Lubin. It is you and your band mates that have caused the youth to follow the Evil with your demonic crystals, your licentious music and lyrics and depraved stage antics. Now it is time for you to give up those ways and lead the youth back to the Ways of the Creator."
In a quandary, Jack thought, "But I don't understand what the Bible says!"
"Then you ask His Son for guidance."
Erik still held the note.
The throng began to cheer in awe.
Keith only stood in wonder and listened as Tooter Two spoke to him.
"As always, Keith Mullock, you will listen to and do what your leader Jack says. He will instruct you in His Word. And this is what you will do with it, for you are a true son of the working-classes and gang youth brother. You will use His Inspired Word to bring the blue-collar youth and the youth of the streets into His fold so that the discouraged, the disaffected, and the gang youth of violence will turn their energies into serving their Creator and His Son before it's too late. And in this way, worker's son of The Code, you can fulfill your promise to live by it."
Tom, his drums silent, also listened.
"You will know His Word by your band leader's instructions. You must know these Words so that you can use them to fight Corion's new order and the Evil of Corion you saw that night at Cole Blessing's home. Your mission is to make your entertainment colleagues turn from their Godless ways and to take the tool of Godless culture away from the servants of Evil. Your enemy, the Duke of Effingchester, will try to stop you. You must defeat his influence, but you must not defeat him as you once promised your father. Remember, The Creator will deal with him."
Just as Tooter Two instructed Keith to lead the working and gang youth, the angel told Bry to lead the bikers and free-spirits, then added what the bulky synthist wanted to hear. "Further, only you can deliver your only love from the hand of Evil."
McClellan smiled as he thought, "So you want me to get Mo away from Cole Blessing? That's easy enough now."
"No, Redbeard. Compared to what the others have to do, your mission is the toughest, because you will be pitted directly against the harbinger of sin. Don't even think he will let you take his number one disciple from him. I just hope you are made strong enough to handle this vilest spirit."
None of the six were more shaken than Mick, who shivered mightily in his clothes as Tooter One, with a voice that could spew brimstone, helped the lanky one recount his many acts of perversion: bisexuality, pagan worship, leading the occultist Druidics, promoting and loving the satanic singer, Adam Bloodlove.
"Even so, you have finally seen some of the error of your ways and are thus entitled to complete your mission. One, continue to mend your sinful lifestyle. As you do this, we, The Tooters of The Creator, charge you with making your fellows in perversion see their own errors. As well as you can, lead the fornicators and pagan worshipers to the One True God. Your mission completion will help Him weigh the rest of your life in the balance. We hope you will not be found wanting."
As Mick continued to shiver, as the crowd rose in a quaking crescendo of cheer in glorious wonder, Erik began to close out his minute-long note—
But not before The Tooters closed out.
At the same time all six heard them say in unison, "We are The Tooters, angels of The All Mighty. What you heard is His Will and you will do His Will—For you are the Prophesied Band."
—wwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Now all the six prodigal band members had to do was accept their missions, or not. That decision will be revealed in Part Four of Chapter Four of Talent For A Mission, fulfilling the rest of Luke 15, verses 20-32, which will be posted in early January, 2024.
And just who is 'my sweet love, to wear a golden crown'? Why, Jesus Christ, the 'King of Kings and Lord of Lords' in the Hallelujah Chorus of Handel's Messiah!
