The counter argument here is that many of those so called purely academic books published by prestigious publishing houses end up languishing and gathering dust in academic libraries, often they are read and reviewed by a few hundred experts dialoguing with each, and are useful to the professors who write them for tenure and promotion considerations. Afterward they are forgotten. On the other hand, the books in the on-line Ovi bookshop have been perused and read by many thousands of people around the world.
