9 Ways On How To Handle Rejection In Your Life

Rejection happens to all of us everywhere and at any time, as life doesn't care, as we don't always get what we want or deserve. The most common ways of getting rejected is being turned away by love, money, or finding a suitable direction.

Rejection can occur to anyone when least expecting it. We can't always get what we're seeking, as it doesn't differentiate for the privileged or the poor. At some point, we'll get rejected for something.

So it comes down to how we deal with it, and how we recover.

Love for instance, is a feeling most want, but won't bother trying because of the fear of rejection.

Rejection can rear its head at times for our own good as fate interjects. What's known is it's fact of life.

9. Never Take It Personally

9-rejection
Realize you're unique but also human. Rejection is a happenstance of life. Most often, the reason why someone rejects you is because of their own situation or reason, and not because of you. It's usually not personal, so don't take it personally.

It's not your fault they rejected you, and although you might not like it, always respect their decision.

Reserve the right for they to reject whatever it is you requested. Don't sulk or judge, but instead put everything in perspective.

8. Talk With Someone You Trust

8-rejection
If you just got rejected for something by someone you like, talk about it with your best friend over coffee. What just talking, comparing notes, revealing how you feel with someone you trust can do is relieve the pain.

If you keep these feelings in a dark miserable place, it will tilt you off balance.

You'll lose your sense of assessing the situation rationally, and it will become difficult to get it out of your system. When talking to someone, you can then both compare similar rejections.

7. Keep Moving Forward

7-rejection
Never allow one or a few rejections to disturb or dominate your life. So what if your idea got rejected. Next time, work harder and form better ones. Failing at something means you're doing something. You're taking action and moving forward.

Realize you can't control everything. What you can control however are your actions.

Time is of essence, so use it to your best advantage. Rejection is inevitable, so regardless of how difficult it may be right now, it too will pass.

6. Prepare Yourself Mentally

6-rejection
Once you place yourself in a situation where you might get rejected, prepare yourself mentally, to confront the worst case scenario that might happen. Although remaining confident is important, also always have a back-up plan, for the just in case situations.

You ask someone out and you get rejected, a job application gets turned down. All you're doing is getting closer to what you want. Get ready to apply yourself in different situations, or try again from another perspective.

5. Re-frame The Rejection

5-rejection
Instead of feeling and thinking you were rejected, that some said "no" to you, revision it. Instead of saying "how dare you," find different ways to get over it. Believe you're better than that, you're better off for it.

If someone turned you down for love, stop feeling rejected, as obviously it wasn't meant to be so move on.

All that someone said was "no" based on the conditions you laid out. Their situation. Realize that sometimes, we're accepted, sometimes we're not. That's life.

4. Move On Don't Dwell

4-rejection
Don't allow rejection to dictate your future. Remember you're the commander of your life, so keep control of it, redesign it.

Keep moving forward, never dwell on the rejection as doing so will make you unhappy, distracting you from enjoying the present and the future.

Getting rejected is a part of life. Usually a 50/50 proposition, sometimes better sometimes worse, and it doesn't mean you're a failure, you just hit a snag. This is the universe telling you to move in another direction.

3. Learn The Life Lesson

3-rejection
If you were recently rejected for or by something, anything, you might not understand it right away. What you might feel is bad or sad, your confidence wavering, you feel alone. Realize this is the worst thing you could do to yourself.

Rejection doesn't always feel great, but know there's always a life lesson to be learned from it. Instead of feeling miserable, search for the underlying lesson, then learn from it, and use it in the future.

2. Another Door Opens

2-rejection
Believe there's someone or something waiting for you somewhere. That's how life works. Don't make your latest rejection be the excuse to not love again. Consider it as you're getting closer to what you want.

Perhaps who you thought was your perfect match, your potential soulmate, might of been the person who recently rejected you. It's them who's not ready, not you.

Always keep in mind that everyone deserves love, and everyone is eventually meant to be with the right person, provided it's the right time and circumstances, and perhaps, this wasn't the right time.

1. Learn To Accept Rejection

1-rejection
Know there are different forms of rejection and it happens to everyone. So learn to live and accept it. Let go of the sting of the rejection as soon as possible.

Move on with your life. Don't allow it to tie you down or fester, as you want to dismiss it as soon as possible as it wasn't meant to be.

The experience will make you stronger, richer and more durable as the next rejection won't shake you as bad.

Keep in mind if it doesn't work out this time, it may work out later. There's usually something in your life to overcome first.
