Welcome to the world of exquisite whiskies, where each label tells a story of craftsmanship, heritage, and the pursuit of liquid perfection. In this curated selection, each bottle is not just a beverage; it's an invitation to explore the depths of flavour, craftsmanship, and innovation that define premium whiskies.

Consider this an invitation to embark on a journey through some of the finest drams currently available. From the complex allure of Ardray, via leading independent whisky curators Wemyss Malts, to the timeless elegance of Highland Park, these whiskies are a celebration of the artistry that defines the world of premium spirits. Peruse, choose and enjoy…

Ardray 2023 release, £60

Arriving on the scene with a splash in 2023, Ardray is a tempting testament to the art of blending. Crafted by the award-winning Suntory blending team, this malt-rich blended Scotch challenges preconceptions, intertwining the unique terroir of Scotland with Japanese precision. Japanese whisky is hot right now, and Ardary pays homage to the vision of Shinjiro Torii, the Father of Japanese Whisky.

Bottled at 48% ABV, each edition is marked with the year of release. Tasting Notes speak of a gently floral, citrusy fruitiness, with custard creams and a rich, silky mouthfeel.

Availability: Priced £60, from The Whisky Shop, Master of Malt, and The Whisky Exchange.

Angel's Envy, £59

Aged for up to six years in French oak port wine barrels,  Angel's Envy is an award-winning bourbon that boasts subtle strains of vanilla, toasted nuttiness, and bitter chocolate, creating an ideal post-dinner indulgence or a refined Manhattan.

Bottled at 43.3% ABV, tasting notes highlight the liquid's vanilla sweetness, with hints of raisins and maple syrup.

Availability: Priced at £57.47, from The Whisky Shop, Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange.

Wemyss Malts A Quarter Past 25 Year Old, £235

Sourced exclusively from single malts, A Quarter Past is a rare gem, part of Wemyss Malts' Limited Collection, a blend curated by Isabella Wemyss.

A robust 53.6% ABV, this limited-edition blended Scotch malt whisky has been aged for 25 years in ex-bourbon barrels, resulting in a luxuriously sweet vanilla-rich dram.

Tasting notes recount coconut, hibiscus, vanilla and lemon zest on the nose, honeyed sweet nectarines, toffee, and creme brulee on the palate, and a warming finish cinnamon, spice, and freshly grated ginger.

Availability: Priced at £235, from Wemyss Malts.

Wemyss Malts Heliotrope Fancy 14 Year Old, £100

Tobermory, the only distillery on the Isle of Mull, presents the Heliotrope Fancy, a 2008 vintage Highland single cask whisky, bottled at 46% ABV. With a bright, bold nose of parma violets and lavender, this expression offers a palate of subtle sweetness, floral notes, and a fruit-filled finish.

With only 377 bottles in cask, this vintage expression is a distinctive addition to any collection.

Tasting Notes detail the subtle sweetness of apple, and honeydew, with a medium to long finish with herbal and earthy undertones.

Availability: Priced at £100, from Wemyss Malts.

Highland Park 18 Year Old  Single Malt, £140

As Burns Night approaches, Highland Park 18-Year-Old stands as a fitting tribute. This exceptional single malt, bottled at an approachable 43% ABV, embodies the five keystones of production, resulting in a sophisticated medley of ripe cherries, bittersweet cocoa, honeycomb, and candied orange peel.

Look for honey and peat on the palate, with stewed fruits and a hint of coffee. The finish is long, with smoke and toffee undertones

Availability: Priced at £140,  you can pick up this Scotch from The Whisky Shop, Master of Malt, and The Whisky Exchange.

Darkness Single Malt 8 year old, £49.95

At the core of this award-winning Darkness expression is an eight-year-old single malt Scotch whisky matured in ex-bourbon barrels. Following that, the whisky is moved over to custom-made Oloroso sherry octave casks for at least three months.

Small casks make for a vastly increased surface area to volume ratio compared to the much larger sherry butts, leading to more cask influence and more of those intense sherried notes we've all come to know and love.

Non-chill filtered, this 47.8% ABV expression boasts a nose of candied orange peel, peanuts, and cooking spice on the nose,  and amaretti biscuits, with subtle toasty hints on the palate.  Whether sipped neat or in a Highball, Darkness 8-Year-Old promises an exceptional sherried dram for the price.

Availability: Priced at £49.95, from The Whisky Shop and Master of Malt.
