This is the last book I read in 2023, even though my Goodreads insists on adding it to 2024. Sequel to Mistletoe Countess in the Freddie and Grace Mystery series, Cairo Curse takes readers on an adventure in Egypt, where Lord Astley's cousins are funding and finding treasures in Egyptian tombs. Except there's a spouse squandering some money.
Oh, then there's the archaeologist who is knocked unconscious when no one else is around. And the jewelry that seems to go missing. There's the camel riding and cave falling. Then the orphan girl who has attached herself to Lady Astley gets locked in a storage room. and so much more!
Let's just say that all the adventures were not left behind in Havensbrook! The mysteries seem to follow Lord and Lady Astley, even on their stop before their honeymoon in Italy. The couple are very good at working together to solve mysteries!
I really enjoy Lord and Lady Astley's characters. They for so well together and find the joy even in the unimaginable. The two are super adorable people who have come together unexpectedly and actually get along. It's heartwarming to think such a relationship is possible, even if it's only in books I read!
I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras because I want the Astley's to be my neighbors! Let's have tea tomorrow! Special thanks for NetGalley and Barbour Books for access to this amazing work! Can't wait to read the next in the series, The Juliet Code.
