Cruz is an F1 driver who is skilled on the track and has quite the reputation off the track. It is his reputation off the track which is causing difficulty with a sponsorship deal so he caves into the pressure and decides to pretend to be in a relationship. The only problem is that the meek and mild woman he chose isn't quite what she appears.
Maddix has dreams for her future and if that includes pretending to be in a relationship with a charming and confident athlete then so be it. There is no way she will develop feelings for him due to his attitude and his reputation, but she is about to find out she couldn't be more wrong.
When it comes to Cruz and Maddix neither is as they appear. Cruz appears to be living a life that others would envy but with it comes expectations and demands while Maddix is willing to fight for what she deserves. The more they get to know each other the deeper the feelings between them become and they couldn't have been a better match.
