Blurb:

Merrigan is royalty, due to marry Prince Carsten of Petura on Christmas Eve. It's a marriage of convenience, and one Merrigan doesn't want, so when she brings shame to her parents, the monarchy of Lyntona, through a leaked video, she decides she has to get away from it all. Everything goes wrong for her. Will she ever find her way back?
Deus is living on the streets of New York City. He's served his country for several years as a highly ranked commander, but now he just want's to be on his own with no commitments. He's doing great until he saves a young lady from a brutal attack. He doesn't want the responsibility of looking after her. He can't cope with that, but he can't help but want to protect her. It's his instinct to protect.
Who is she? Where is she from? They're questions they both want answers to.

My 4* Review:

A Christmas Wish By Lynda Throsby is a romantic opposites attract, memory loss novella.

Princess Merrigan Louise Thornton of Lyntona and Amadeus Stollinka meet under extraordinary circumstances and through the situations they both find themselves in, develop a friendship and love neither expected. They are from totally different worlds but on the streets of New York they find a way to survive together.

Merrigan 'Merry' is due to marry the Crown Prince of Petura to join their two countries together. She hates the idea and wants to be free of her royal obligations. She has spent the last three weeks in the Maldives avoiding all the wedding arrangements. Her friends unexpectedly arrive and it leads to enlightening news about her betrothed and an unfortunate humiliating incident. Now even more determined not to marry, she manages to escape and ends up in New York.

Amadeus 'Deus' has been living on the streets of New York for the last two years. It is his choice because he likes the solitude and lack of responsibility of being homeless. He was a Special Forces Commander but now suffers with survivors guilt and PTSD after his last mission.

Merry is fascinated wandering the streets but it turns scary when she gets lost. A encounter ends up with her being rescued by Deus but she is left unable to remember her name or anything about her life. Deus knows she doesn't belong on the streets but knows he can't look after her.

She loves how protective he is and for the first time she feels alive. She has turned his life upside down and he never wants to let her go but knows she has a life to go back to. Who is his Merry Belle and where is she from? They find out she has a mesmerising talent and settle into a routine as they get to know each other. Can he get over his fears and help her because they will both be broken hearted if lost each other. The responsibility of looking after her could either set him back or help heal him?

Once she gets her memory back do they have a chance at a relationship. What happens when her family find her? Would she be allowed to stay with Deus? Will they have a Merry Christmas or will they be left heartbroken? A sweet but thoughtful holiday read with a HEA for a lovely couple.
