Synopsis
DARCY
The death of my father not only rips out my heart but tears open my entire life.
His funeral brings the appearance of his bastard son, the byproduct of my father's apparent misadventures. Wren Porter is a prickly, untrusting beef cake in an ill-fitting suit, and he looks so much more the part of a Ritcherson than I do.
Now it's on me to teach him the family business while ignoring my attraction to the man the world thinks is my brother.
All it would take is one misstep for him to find out the secret my father literally took to his grave.
He's not the bastard son.
I am.
Wren's the true heir to the Ritcherson fortune, but I've fought my whole life for my place at the table. If anyone discovers the truth, I'll lose everything.
I used to think the worst thing that could happen would be losing the company, but the closer I get to Wren, I realize the biggest thing on the line is my heart.

About the Author
Eden Finley is an Amazon bestselling author who writes steamy contemporary romances that are full of snark and light-hearted fluff.
She doesn't take anything too seriously and lives to create an escape from real life for her readers. The ideas always begin with a wackadoodle premise, and she does her best to turn them into romances with heart.
With a short attention span that rivals her son's, she writes multiple different pairings: MM, MMF, and MF.
She's also an Australian girl and apologises for her Australianisms that sometimes don't make sense to anyone else.
The Bastard and the Heir by Eden Finley and Saxon James is a new standalone MM romance. Darcy Ritcherson is the CEO of a multinational media conglomerate and he's facing down his biggest obstacle yet, his newly acknowledged half brother Wren Porter and the baggage that a bastard son brings. Wren doesn't want anything from any of the Ritchersons but has decided to look at what his life would have been like had his father accepted him as a legitimate son. He doesn't want to like Darcy, the man who was brought up as the heir to the Ritcherson name, but finds himself drawn to the charming workaholic. Darcy never expects himself to be lightening up and allowing himself to have fun getting to know Wren. What's even worse is the feelings developing between the two and what that could mean for the future of their company and with each other.
Wow Wren and Darcy had so much chemistry in and out of the bedroom. I loved seeing the simmering tension build up until it couldn't be helped but boil over. Darcy has been carrying so much guilt knowing his life has been built upon lies that getting to know Wren has made it infinitely worse. Even worse is that Wren deserves the world as a thoughtful, kind and caring man. Wren sees Darcy in a way that no one ever has before and the two are able to provide each other with support and encouragement in every aspect of their lives. It's hard to see these two men struggle under the weight of all their family secrets and pressure to do what's right for their families.
When I initially read the synopsis for the book I did not connect that these were characters we have met in previous Sadenverse stories. But getting Remy as a spunky side character and seeing Emile, Em and Chrisitan's cameo made me very happy. It was a wild ride with the hate to love to hate rollercoaster we were on with Darcy and Wren. With extremely steamy stolen moments and emotional ups and downs, The Bastard and the Heir does not disappoint.
4.5 stars for Darcy and Wren putting a whole new twist on brotherly love.
