Because not many people are actually aware that F1 is back this weekend, and the race is on a Saturday evening due to Ramadan....
Of course, the first edition of the Bahrain Grand Prix was actually on April 4, 2004, marking Formula 1's first race in the Middle East, with Michael Schumacher easily winning the race from pole position (He also set the fastest lap) in a Ferrari 1-2 ahead of Rubens Barrichello with Jenson Button 3rd for BAR-Honda, in what was Schumacher's third win from as many races in his record-setting 2004 season.

That race also featured the highlight of one of the greatest engine blow-ups of the 21st Century, coming via Kimi Raikkonen's McLaren-Mercedes, which started with an explosion of smoke, spectacularly turned into a blaze, then went back to smoke, then went back to a blaze, and finished with a trail of smoke.
It was quite an appropriate end to Kimi's weekend, which had started with an engine failure in Practice 1 that resulted in a grid penalty.

Thanks to various rule changes for the better, there's something that we never really see in F1 anymore... the enormous engine blow-up that blinds every car/driver behind you.
Still, this wouldn't be Raikkonen's last spectacular moment of car self-destruction at Sakhir.... a mere 2 years later, his right-rear suspension (Specifically the wishbone) failed at Turn 9 and proceeded to destroy the rear of the McLaren:

He would recover and finish 3rd in the race.
