Happy February! I don't know about you, but I'm glad the year of January is finally over. February doesn't always feel *much* better, but it's my birthday month, and it's shorter so...it's better. Normally, I try to read every romance book I own every February, but since I'm on a major fantasy kick, I think "Fantasy February" will be my vibe instead. I'm prioritizing books I already own on this list, and at the end, I'll include some soon-to-be-published books that I'm excited about!
House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J Maas
If you read my last post, you know how excited I am for this release. I definitely thought I would have finished it before the start of February, but life and work got in the way of my reading. Rude. This is my priority read, and I can't wait for it to ruin me.
Song of Silver, Flame Like Night by Amelie Wen Zhao
I'm fairly certain I got this on a Barnes and Noble birthday trip last year, and it's high time I read it. The cover is beautiful and the story sounds exciting! Plus, book two is out. Kingdoms being conquered...magic being outlawed...a world needing to be saved...yes, please!
Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
I've seen so much love for this cozy fantasy and I'm excited to finally read it! I bought the UK version when I was in Amsterdam last Spring Break, and it is stunning. Plus, this fulfills the "read a cozy mystery" prompt for Read Harder's 2024 challenge!
A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating A Demon by Sarah Hawley
Okay: this cover. To be honest, it's the main reason I purchased this book. Plus, I love a witchy magical romance!
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
I started this one yesterday and I'm really enjoying it so far! I love the northern setting and the quirky and brilliant main character, Emily Wilde. This novel has a slower pace, but I like that it's told through Emily's journal entries, and there may be a slow-burn romance underfoot? I guess I'll find out as I keep reading!
Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Torz
I will admit that I know almost nothing about this book, except when I chose it as my Book of the Month it seemed cool...and then I promptly forgot what it was about. The title is intriguing, and I'm looking forward to diving in!
Fantasy Books Coming Soon:
Bride by Ali Hazelwood (out today!): I love all of Ali's books and I can't wait to read her first published fantasy!
Lore of the Wilds by Analeigh Sbrana: I first saw this cover and blurb with Sbrana posted about her book on Threads, and I'm excited to get my hands on this one. There's a library! Hot fae! Done.
A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen: This cover is amazing and it has some solid buzz!
Are you a fantasy reader? What are you reading this month?
