What would've been the 4th Manning Derby between the Manning Firsts and the Seconds in Thursday Premier League South will be consigned to the dustbin of history, as Thursday Pennants was abandoned on Wednesday evening due to the 38+ degree heat rule and the forecast top of 41 degrees...
Which turned out to be incorrect, because it got to 42.
Quite a disappointment for all 24 blokes involved, because we always love getting a chance to belt each other up on the green and have a group chat afterwards, and with how tight the Premier League South ladder is (1 game between 3rd and 9th) and the risk of either team getting relegated, we don't know if we'll ever get to play another Thursday Derby at Manning.
For the record, these would've been the teams:
I would've pencilled in a 5-1 for the 1s... because Billy Fraser can't win his rink in a Derby.
So that means that the only winner of the Derby this season was the JT managed Manning 2s on November 9 (Before I got the arse from team management), through 3 Derbies the 2s are still ahead 2-1 on the aggregate victories, and Billy Fraser has still never won his rink in a Manning Derby.
Of all the days to get heated out on a Thursday, why did it have to be a Manning Derby Thursday...
