A local library had a Blind Book with a Book promotion. Readers could borrow a book from a shelf with wrapped books. Each wrapped book had the genre and a couple short reviews written in the front.
I chose a contemporary romance. For my first book for this promotion, I was quite pleased! The book was enjoyable and I loved the characters and the setting.
Not Quite Over You is a story about high school sweethearts who separate when he goes off to college. She visits him once to tell him she's pregnant but decided to put the baby up for adoption. What she didn't tell him, or anyone else for that matter, that she lives with the adopting couple for a while and has kept in touch with their daughter.
Now Autumn is staying with Silver for her mother's second wedding and then staying with Silver while they're on their honeymoon. How will Silver tell Drew that his daughter will be staying in their little town of Happily Inc for a week?
Silver is my favorite character in this story. She's entrepreneurial and has a passion for her business. She knows what she wants and does what she needs to in order to achieve her dreams. Mishaps happen, but she gets through it.
My least favorite is Drew's mother. She seems controlling and not willing to bend from her idea of a successful life for Drew. She's tunnel visioned and doesn't seem to care what Drew actually wants.
I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras because of the emotional roller coaster and how everything flows together. Special thanks to the Sgt Yano Library for the Blind Date with a Book promotion! I can't wait until this comes around again next year and to read the rest of this series!
