My anticipated reading
My list
Three Little Birds by Sam Blake
So Late In The Day by Clare Keegan
The Translator's Funeral by Ronán Hession
*James Joyce
*James Joyce
*Dubliners is a collection of short stories. Last March I read and shared my thoughts on The Dead by James Joyce which is the last of the stories in Dubliners. So I thought it would be good to continue reading from Dubliners and will read one or two of these stories for Reading Ireland Month 2024. Here is a list of the stories I will choose from -
The Sisters | An Encounter | Araby | Eveline | After the Race | Two Gallants | The Boarding House | A Little Cloud | Counterparts | Clay | A Painful Case | Ivy Day in the Committee Room | A Mother | Grace |The Dead
Other / miscellany
I occasionally come across articles and information about Irish authors, books, bookshops and publishers so I will share some of them over the course of the month.
Reading Ireland Month - origins and host
Reading Ireland is hosted by Cathy at 746books.com
'Reading Ireland Month (or The Begorrathon as it is affectionately known) will return for the eighth year between Friday 1 and Sunday 31 March 2024 and I'd love for you to join me.'
Cathy @ 746books.com
Cathy is a huge promoter of all books, authors and the arts of Ireland. You can read any book and provided the author is Irish it will count as part of this challenge.
Just remember - Don't forget to either tag Cathy in your post or link up your post in the comments section of the pinned Master Post from 1st March and she will also round up the contributions every Sunday throughout the month.
So that's my plan for Reading Ireland Month.
This year Cathy will be tweeting using the hashtags #readingirelandmonth24 or #begorrathon24
What about you? Will you be joining in? What will you be reading? I look forward to following the hashtag #️⃣ through March.
Happy reading!
