RED LEATHER, YELLOW LEATHER.
For what could be the first time since approximately Round 2 of 2019, all games during a Home & Away round were played with a yellow Sherrin, a far cry from the days of every game starting at 2:10 on a Saturday afternoon and being played with a Red Sherrin.
As per the AFL's rules (Since the 2012 broadcasting rights deal), all games that start after 3pm local time must be played with a yellow Sherrin, which meant 7 out of the 8 games this weekend were guaranteed to be played with a yellow pill...
And the only game that could've been played with a red Sherrin was the Western Bulldogs-West Coast game on Sunday afternoon, but all games at Marvel Stadium are played under the roof due to decades of issues with shadows due to the North-South orientation, so for the first time in approximately a decade, every game in a single round had a yellow Sherrin.
Still, we'll be playing the Grand Final at 2:40 on a Saturday afternoon with a red Sherrin, despite 70% of all games during a season using the yellow Sherrin.
